Top 10 Best Actors of All Time

Hollywood-the place where dreams come true. Hollywood has changed the lives of many people and given unprecedented fame to others. And the main source of such a change is acting. Acting is never an easy job and there are schools and theaters which give training to actors. Not everybody can be an actor. An actor has to shed all inhibitions and do something extraordinary to get noticed among several other actors. One has to understand that succeeding as an actor is a tough job because millions are competing to get to the top but over the years, only a handful get selected. Over the years, Hollywood has produced some of the most versatile actors of all time.

It is never easy to select a top ten list for best actors because there have been numerous good actors. My list for the best Hollywood actors is based on the versatility of the actors and how many different roles they have done.

Yo, no offense but this list bites!!! Hannibal Lector is going to eat you for not putting Anthony Hopkins on this list!!! Seriously, are you nuts? Because no Denzel Washington or Morgan Freeman, really?

  2. Edward says:

I know these lists are all a matter of personal opinion but no Daniel Day Lewis? Seriously?

    • Nathaniel says:

Oh yeah, thanks Edward this guy left out Daniel Day Lewis who by the way won the most best actor awards in freakin history!!!!! This list is Wack bro!!!

  3. ben007brink says:

daniel day lewis, ian mkellen, pete posselthwaite, judi dench and many more

  4. Harry K says:

This list goes way off right after Tom Hanks. I don’t agree with the rankings. Where’s Bo Brundin? Paul Newman once said that he (Bo) would be considered the greatest actor of his decade…Remember Great Waldo Pepper?

  5. Darryl Stewart says:

You gotta be kiding. Although the younger acters are improving, they can’t even come close to the greats of the 40s to the 60s. Where on this list are greats like Bogie, Clark Gable, Edward G. Robinson, Richard Burton, and the list goes on. I’m thinking the younger generation has never even seen a movie older than 10 years.

  6. Darryl Stewart says:

You put Ryan Gosling as number 10, but ignore actors such as Mel Gibson, Kevin Costner, and even Burt Lancaster, and Gary Cooper?

  7. Jerome Murphy says:

I can’t believe you left off Bogart and Cagney right off the bat. It’s obvious you aren’t considering all actors, just the actors that you happened to see at the theatres which is a joke.

  8. Cody Markus says:

Morgan Freeman, Will Smith, Eddie Murphy, Tom Cruise, Jim Carrey and Harrison Ford should be on there they are amazing actors

  9. Cody Markus says:

Daniel Craig, Orlando Bloom, Alan Rickman, Daniel Radcliff, Rowan Atkinson too these are amazing actors too like Rowan Atkinson – Mr Bean, Daniel Radcliff and Alan Rickman in Harry Potter, Orlando Bloom just wow in LOTR and the Hobbit, Daniel Craig – The James Bond.

  10. Cillian Disken says:

Daniel Day Lewis must be on this list. The English-Irish actor has 3 Academy Awards for best actor and should probably have more. This list overall is very short term minded. A good example of this is when the writer said for Ryan Gosling “You are probably surprised to see his name here”, should it not have dawned on him/her that he should not be here period.

  11. argentum47 says:

You can never make a top 10 list, there will always be someone deserving left out.

  12. Virtual Private Servers says:

Robert Mitchum was an underrated American leading man of enormous ability, who sublimated his talents beneath an air of disinterest. Multiple Emmy- and Golden Globe-winner Martin Sheen is one of America’s most celebrated, colorful, and accomplished actors.

  13. John Felix Koziol says:

How quickly they’re forgotten when they have passed away! James Cagney, Humphrey Bogart, James Stewart, Fred MacMurray are names that immediately come to my mind. If the actors act in color they are remembered more. If they acted in black-and-white, not so much. How sad!

  14. Raoul says:

I want to be a little less critical than some of the other comments. I completely agree with #1. Not sure how far You looked back because I also agree with the 1/9/18 comment. The top 4 can be jumbled, but they do indeed belong in a “Top 10” list. Go back a little farther and examine a little deeper. Just one good example; study the career and film credits of Christopher Lee. Amazing. There are others. Film has too much history. Try a top 100…
