2013 promises to be a great year for movie lovers. Their are many upcoming movies, mostly sequels, which are highly anticipated by the audiences. Summer time, from May to August, is usually the time these movies will be releasing. With so many upcoming movies releasing in the near future, I decided to narrow down movies to a top 10 list. The movies included in the top 10 list are the most awaited and talked about upcoming movies in the world.The list for the Top 10 Upcoming Movies 2013 is as follows:

10. The Lone Ranger

 

The Lone Ranger is an upcoming Johnny Depp movie. The release date for this movie is set at July 3, 2013. Johnny Depp stars in the lead role and is accompanied by Armie Hammers and William. This movie is directed by Gore Verbinski. The Lone Ranger is the only Johnny Depp movie releasing this year and this makes it much awaited and anticipated.

 

9. Thor: The Dark World

The sequel to Thor, Thor: The Dark World is one of the most awaited and anticipated movies of 2013. Chris Hemsworth and the beautiful Natalie Portman reprise their roles in the movie. Directed by Alan Taylor, Thor: The Dark World also stars Tom Hiddleston, Zachary Levi and Kat Dennings.

 

8. The Wolverine

 

Hugh Jackman will be back this summer to play the fan-favorite role of Wolverine. The Wolverine will release on July 26 and is long awaited by fans. Apart from Hugh Jackman, this upcoming movie stars Famke Janssen as Jean Grey.

 

7. Man of Steel

 

Man of Steel is an upcoming movie based on the character, Superman. Henry Cavill plays the role of Clark Kent or Superman. Michael Shannon and Amy Adams are also playing supporting roles in the movie. This upcoming movie is one of the most talked about movies and the first one in the Superman series. The movie will release on June 14, 2013.

 

6. The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug

 

After the massive commercial and critical success of the first part of Hobbit, in December, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug will release. This is the second part of the Hobbit series and the continuation of the journey. Martin Freeman is back as Bilbo Baggins. Benedict Cumberbatch will play the role of the villain, Smaug. Peter Jackson will direct this upcoming movie, which is based on J.R.R Tolkein’s novel, The Hobbit.

 

5. The Great Gatsby

 

Based on the classic novel by F. Scott Fitzgerlad, the upcoming movie The Great Gatsby is widely awaited and talked about movie by fans and audiences. Starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Carrey Mulligan and Joel Edgerton, The Great Gatsby promises to be a huge hit and an enjoyable movie. This upcoming movie is directed by Baz Luhrmann. The release date is set for May 10, 2013. Based on the massive success of the novel, audiences are extremely excited to see their favorite characters on the big screen.

 

4. The Hangover Part III

 

The final part and ultimate ending to The Hangover series will release on May 24. The Hangover Part III sees our favorite boys back in action. Bradley Cooper, Zack Galifianakis, Heather Graham and Melissa McCarthy are in the cast of this much awaited upcoming movie. One thing is for sure; irrespective of critics reviews, The Hangover Part III will smash the box office.

 

3. Iron Man 3

 

Robert Downey Jr. is back as the Iron Man in the upcoming film, Iron Man 3. The movie will release on May 3, 2013. The early reviews coming in are praising the movie and the action. The predictions are that Iron Man 3 will break the box office records set by The Avengers. Ben Kingsley will play the villain, Mandarin, in the movie. Gwyneth Paltrow and Rebecca Hall also star in the film.

 

2. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

 

Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence is back in The Hunger Games franchise as The Hunger Games: Catching Fire releases in November this year. The hige fan base of the series, as well as the critics, are waiting for this movie desperately to see Jennifer Lawrence back in role as Katniss Everdeen. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire also stars Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Banks and Liam Hemsworth. This upcoming movie will be directed by Francis Lawrence.

 

1. Fast & Furious 6

 

Mark 24 May, 2013 on your calendars. That’s when Fast & Furious 6 releases. The super cast of the movie includes Dwayne Johnson, Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez and Jordana Brewster. Unlike Fast Five, this year Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel team up to fight a common enemy. This upcoming movie is bound to have breathtaking car races and action.
