Her songs, Mr Know It All and Stronger were on the charts list for most part of the year. In fact, Stronger is the best selling single from American Idol. She just released her new album in November 2012

She is a regular worldwide trend on Twitter. Even though she hasn’t released an album in 2012, she is planning on releasing her new album in the coming months.

She is also working on her forthcoming album with well established stars like Kanye West. Beyonce is only 31 years old but has already become a legend in the music industry with many upcoming singers trying to imitate her.

Lady Gaga is very well known around the world and she has perhaps the strongest online presence of fans, whom she calls her monsters. This year she released her musical 3D film titled Part of Me. It grossed $30 million worldwide and received positive reviews. Billboard named her Woman of the Year 2012. She is currently working on her next album.

Taylor Swift, 22, is a country artist who is extremely popular in the younger generation. This year, she released her album, Red, with the sales of 1.2 million, which are the highest ever in a decade. This just goes on to show her fan base. Her song, We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, was the number 1 on most music charts worldwide. There is no question about her immense popularity and she is number 3 on the list of the top 10 popular female singers in 2012.

Rihanna is number 2 on the list of the top 10 popular female singers in 2012. Extremely popular and followed worldwide, she released her album, Talk That Talk in 2011 and this year, she released another album, Unapologetic. The song, Diamonds, from the album is currently the number 1 song on music charts worldwide. Her powerful voice has been praised by all, including Coldplay singer, Chris Martin.

Finally the number 1. Adele!! Her voice has caused even the metal fans to notice her. Praised everywhere she goes and winning most awards last year, 2012 was the year where she released just one song, Skyfall which was the theme song from the James Bond movie, Skyfall. The British singer won 6 Grammy awards this year for her album, 21. Adele’s album, 21 has sold 25 million copies worldwide and in US, her album has topped the charts longer than any album since 1985. This is not all. Adele is the only female to have three singles in the top 10 charts in Billboard at a time. Times Magazine included her in the list of the most influential people in the world. She is deservedly, number 1 on the list of the top 10 popular female singers in 2012
